BMItalia has created bespoke furnishings for a private home in Sondrio.
From the project of the designer Fabio Gianoli, BMItalia has elaborated the executive production design of the custom-made furniture elements.
Designer Fabio Gianoli talks about the design of his home ...

The entrance is in the sleeping area on the street level: as soon as you enter there is the study room with a view of the ancient Church of San Bartolomeo from the 1400s, FAI heritage; a filter space that joins the bedroom and the master bathroom, where my "Apple Story" is placed on the wall, a collection of drawings of travel notes in NY inserting some city symbols into a stylized apple.

In the bedroom when I can I always try to provide the double bed in the center of the room and so I also did for my bedroom, in front of the window that makes us see the Convent of San Lorenzo. A wardrobe at the head of the bed creates a corridor leading to the walk-in closet. On this head I placed a reconstruction engraved on wood of a work by Picasso made by a friend carpenter.
The walk-in closet was created in the enlargement of the house and is characterized by an exposed concrete ceiling and an interesting detail: a trap door in the floor that allows dirty laundry to be sent directly to the laundry room below.

On the opposite side of the floor there is the bathroom, a corridor that develops towards the terrace with the open space shower directly on the French door.

The stool, made from a hollow aluminum block, is the prototype for a removable and transportable seat designed for my sister to solve her guitarist needs during the conservatory studies ("Musician stool" project DECO ', 2009).

Both in the bathroom and in the bedroom I decided to partially screen the windows on the street side transforming them into bookcases. A perpendicular cut in the slab is the connection compartment between the two levels where with the artisan friend Mauro Bettini (STILFER) we thought of a thin self-supporting natural iron staircase with a double landing towards the kitchen and the dining area that make up in any case a unique space.

Guests can also access this part of the house directly from an external passage.

So, by order, we find the linear kitchen with a container island part, the passage under the staircase, then the dining area and the part of the living room.

Beyond the wall with the television, the two doors lead to the cellar and the laundry room with a small service bathroom. It is precisely in the living area of the house, a space that I like to share with friends but also to enjoy alone, that I have tried to give a new respectful address to this collection of memories.
